My family is going on vacation twice this year. Once for 2 weeks and once for 1 week. I'd be fine leaving my fish for one week, but now I've got a $40 plec, I'm not comfortable leaving my tank more than a week. I was looking at automatic fish feeders, as I don't want anyone to cone in and feed my fish while I'm away. They'd most likely overfeed :grr: so I'm looking at these feeders. I ordered the eheim everyday automatic fish feeder because it had the best rating and was only $21. It looks good, it has a feature to connect an airline so the food doesn't get wet and clog, and a lot more. Can anyone recommend a better one or assure me this ones good?

What I do when I need someone else to feed the fish whilst away.

Get a number of containers whatever you can keep stuff in. Fill these with the amount of food you feed your fish( Also include any specific stuff such as wafers/pellets) and just tell the person feeding to empty 1 container each day.

When I'm away I usually just set it as every other day just so any uneaten food can be scouted up the next day.

I like the idea about using containers for someone to come empty into your tank, but I am a weirdo and have developed quite a specific feeding routine lol - it could mostly go out the window and the fish wouldn't notice but I do like to soak anything that's not flake for a good 15 minutes before feeding, I think I would feel guilty asking someone to sit around and wait
