Hi, Im just curious if anyone here has any experience with automatic fish feeders. Im just trying to feel out ways of getting my fish fed while I am on vacations, and this sounds like it could be a fairly efficient way to do it.

So If anyone has any experience this way, any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I've never used one but have thought about buying one. One of the most common problems seems to be food getting damp and clumping together, some of them have an airline connection for that reason.

If you haven't seen it then here are some reviews from pfk.

I got one once but I never used it. IMO they're not needed unless you're going to be gone more than a week or two. Most fish do fine if you give them a good, large meal the night/day before you go.

Yea im going to be in New York for 2.5 weeks in December, so Im workin the neighbors, (but i dont really want to rely on them) . Trying to figure out other options. Ive found that those feeding bricks or whatever they are, dont really work all that well.

So I will look through that article, and thanks again

yeah as long as your fish font destroy them you should be fine. you could try loading in a pellet or few instead of flakes so it wont clump
