Why am I browsing a fish forum at 2am?
Pshhhh, he didn't even have any decorations in his tank. Melafix isn't doing anything, what's a good product for ripped fins?
He's still perfectly healthy though. I recently added a live plant to his tank and he flares at the leaves

In other news, my favorite plakat is dying of something that no one can seem to diagnose. He was in his own heated, filtered 8 gallon tank and then one day he just starts getting every symptom you can imagine. I just don't get how some people take such rotten care of their fish and they live forever (like my brother who had a betta in a half gallon and changed the water once a month and the thing lived for two years) and then people on this forum try so hard and they still get sick.
I bought some meds from Petco on Sunday and used them on a female plakat who had a slight nick in her fin and Monday morning she was covered in a white slimey fungus and was dead by the afternoon. I don't know if the meds had expired, if I overdosed or what, but it was a big let down. I also have two other fish that I have been trying to cure of fungus for about 4 months. They've been going in and out of it and I finally thought I had it gone for good and in the last few days they both went downhill, fast. And my CT looks like he swallowed a marble, but he's getting better. Blarggg... so, I am done with bettas. They are abviously something I'm not good at. I'm keeping the ones I have but not getting anymore. Unless I find a magical halfmoon that can grant me 3 wishes or something.
