Well after alot of thought we deceided to skip on the fire eel and try an Oxydoras Niger (ripsaw catfish) Firstly here is the most stupid thing..... the woman who claims to be an EXPERT bagged it lmao......how on earth Jay didnt fall on the floor laffing i don't know, obviously spikes punctured bag straight away..so the first pics i have posted are what they had to fetch it home...HOW PROFFESSIONAL! i can't believe they sell these fish and don't have anything decent to transport them in. Up to now the Niger hasnt hid and the Aro's so far aint really bothered with it its swims close by and just carries on past it...even when the Niger moves it don't freak the Aro out which was such a relief.....just keeping a close eye on things over the next few day and I hope it all stays ok cos what a beautiful catfish it is......Moi is very happy with it :hey:

Thats a super nice fish! Oxydoras? sounds familiar to the Corydoras :lol: Thanks for the pictures!

Looks good, what are you feeding it on? They are said to feed on mango and other rotting fruit that has fallen from trees. You should be able to feed them on algae wafers and stuff like cucumber.

Is this a rare fish or something :huh:? Because what fish feeds on rotten mangos? Must have cost a fortune

Thanks ! Last night we gave it a couple ov mussels.....i 'll be feeding it on big catfish pellets, prawn, cucumber etc .

Well astroboy....first night over now and all is looking ok...so far so good !


Thanks everyone ! The niger has been very active during the night he has scoured every inch ov sand lol. Even totally cleared all the corners.....he swam under bogwood when tank lights went on but he s on the move again. Guess not being used to the space he is 'stretching' his legs or tail lolololol
 
Aww.... cute lil ball of spikes :wub: At least it doesn't seem to be going the same way as the last aro tankmate... Can we have a whole tank shot :hey:
