If these snails have enough of a food supply, they will reproduce. I'm glad you have assassins and not malaysians. Maybe you had more snails for the assassins to eat in one tank and this caused them to reproduce more, or maybe you have a tendency to over feed alittle in one tank. Either way, they won't reproduce as much as the malaysians. I started with 5 malaysians a year ago, and yes, I tend to overfeed once in awhile. I have so many now, they are uncountable.
