Assassin Snails

What do they eat when they've eaten all the snails? I want to get one for population control, but if it does a really good job and gets them all will it just starve unless I feed it something else?

That's the same question I asked last week but know one came back with an answer.

They will eat any food scraps that are in the tank, if you chuck bloodworm in for a treat for your fish you see the assassin snails going nuts for it

I have six in my tank and they do a great job of clearing up any flakes from the bottom that my fish leave behind and like it has been said before, they also love bloodworm, not that it is an essential thing for them, or so it seems from my experience. They all seem happy doing their thing in the tank and as long as you go for larger snails, they will live happily with some breeds, as I have three golden apple snails and they swamp the assassins in size, even if all six ganged up on one they wouldn't have a chance (not that I am suggesting for a moment that they are pack hunters!!)

Cheers, just wanted to make sure they wouldn't starve without snails. I'll just get one to start with and see how it does.

i get a few pest snails from my mates tank for them every week or two and as said they love bloodworm and algae wafers and eat dead leaves

mine love shrimp pellets, but will eat anything they can get at
