Asm G-3 Skimmer Not Working Correctly?

My skimmer was working perfect, but now it is over foaming and just causing water over flow. Any ideas why? Its not even collecting anything just fresh marine water now. I have the overflow tube at the bottom of the collection like it says in the instructions and I have the airtube in the air tube holder. If I hold it shut the water will stay at the correct height but when I release the air tube it goes nuts again! Please help if you have had anything like this happen!

Water stats are:

Ammonia-.5
Nitrite-0
Nitrates-0
PH-8.2
Salt-1.024

This is a uncycled tank. With 200 pounds of live rock.

Already did that too!

Adjust the skimmer so that the skimate is drier. With the added contaminents it could be making the skimmer work better than before so the bubbling is more violent and this causes the bubbles and extra water to be skimmed up. It also could be caused by not breaking in the skimmer properly, but I'd say your best bet is to just adjust it to the drier side and see what happens.

Lower the riser tube more until you get some skimmate instead of water, trial and error, forget the instructions. Oh, and put a gate valve modification on that skimmer, you'll be glad you did. asmskimmer.com

The gate modification looks pretty cool, will definately look into that. Thanks for the tube info I thought that was what it was but I didn't want to go against the instructions, but after your advice and the asmskimmer.com advice it was what it is! Thanks!
