Asian Tigerfish

hi, been wanting to add tiger fish to my tank for a while, may be able to get some datnioides microlepis cheap through my lfs, they will bw going into my 7 foot tank, which holds slightly over 1000 litres of water, would it be best just to get one or a pair or 3 etc? and at some point i want to add a datnioides undecimradiatus would they be compatible. i have seen communities of different tiger fish and seems to go well but unsure of their exact species, so anyones views on numbers and compatibility.
also am determined to find and buy a datnioides pulcher one day so would this addition change anything?
just the thoughts of experienced keepers on these fish and compatibility please!
