I too have wierd snail pop ups in my tank...
I have an 20gal Underground Filter and after I put some fish in and 4 months later I look at the filter tube and there was a snail. I have no idea how he got past my dainos and under the gravel? He's getting pretty big soon Im going to have to take him out and feed him to my dainos.... -_-

hi sam, i think i might have the same type of snail that u have descibed, i dont know what it is called but from your description it souns about right

every one i have found i kill because i want to keep my plants in good nick :D

i bet if you look on your deccor you will find little seethrough bubbles with white specs inside, they are snail eggs.
that might not be the only snail in your tank  , you could have over 20

if its the same snail as i have, if you look closely can you see black spots on the shell?

Haha, that happened to me too... I really wonder how the heck they got under the gravel!

Snails are like mice, if you have one, you have more. The LFS near me has a goldfish that they move from tank to tank to keep them under control, lol.

Most snails that you get are sucked up in the bag when they fill it with water and transfer the fish in to the bag when using a net (you know, the two minutes it takes the people at the lfs to catch one fish, could catch you lots of snails too). So that is why you get the snails, from there, they reproduce.

Kipper_Face - no i have not seen that so thanks :D
my snail sort of looks like Bladder/Tadpole/Pouch Snails
