As soon as she drops, she's gone!

I have a plain jane fem that I've been waiting forever for her to drop. I have a 10gal, and had 4m and 6f, plus 2 small albino coreys, 15 3 wk old guppy fry, and a snail. The water should be great though un-tested. The tank has a whisper 10 power filter, a airpump driven cartrige filter, plus a 10inch airstone on another airpump all bunched into 1 corner that keeps the water super clean and plenty of bubbles. The other side of the tank is the still side with the most plants and still water (the hatchery). My live plants are rgowing fast and green, doing very well. When I do a water change I use a bacteria suplement to kick those guys up a notch. I do a 30-40% change once a week. As soon as this female drops, I'm bringing her to a girl at work that has set up a big fishbowl with a small airpump filter. Office temp stays in mid 70's. I've allready brought her a male that had a short tale, and then she'll have the fem. Now for my question. The fem that's about to drop is very plain with just a little black on her tail fin. Are the babies going to be plain too? I'f you have too many small fry, can you hold back feeding adults turning their eye towards the fry? Any comments on my tank would be appreciated as I'm pretty new, but have sought alot of info. Also, after the cull, I will be down to a total of 8 gups, 2 small coreys, the snail, and the 15 existing fry. Am I changin water enough? Looks real clear and good. Gups and cats seem happy. What do yall think? Yes, I'm a Texan;)

Also, How long til I should bring the fem to her new home after she drops?

lotta people have looked but no answer. Is my ediquit off?

If you have colourful males, chances are the fry will have colours too. That's the good thing about livebearers, you never know what you'll get! I change 20% of my water weekly with syphoning gravel. Also, birth can be pretty stressful on a fish so probably a week should be ok to let her recover before you move her. HTH :D

she was pregnant when I got her so I guess we'll wait and see. Do they atleast have a few collored ones? Do you get many plain males?

I've heard sexes depends on the ph of your water( the softer the more males and the harder more females) I dont if this is true. Right now im raisinf over 20 month and a half old fry and 90% look female and i have very hard water, but who knows. Maybe later they're bodies will fill up with male colours :D

How long til they get their colors and not just black? Water is 80 and feed lightly but often.
