OK...

So I've got some Guppy Fry today! (Yay!) - anyway, i've just done a NitrIte test and it turns out they are sky high...

I test my tank everything weekend and during the week. The tank has only just cycled and everything on my last test showed that it had finished - obviously I either did the test wrong or they've balloned since....

Will my 3-4 hour old Guppy Fry be OK?

How many fry are they as that could of caused the spike, how high is the reading, i would preform a water change.

Roughly 12 Fry - The reading is as high as the chart goes...

I would perform a water change but the mother is still in labour and I don't want to suck up any fry

Increase aeration, i would of said add salt but not good with fry, maybe two teaspoons to help them with the high nitrites.

Yes, and if it's of the chart they need some protection while you get it down.

Don't add the salt if you have the sucking loach in there or any scaless fish.

Can you move him to another tank, only water changes and aeration.

No - i'll leave him where he is - he's too hard to catch...

I've added half a teaspoon of salt - not enough to do to much damage to the CAE hopefully.

I'm afraid to do a water change because the Guppy is still in labour and the babies might get sucked up when I do a water change.

Just remove the water from the tank with a jug and bucket.

If you preform the water change add the teaspoon of salt back, as you would of removed it with the water change.
