Arghhhh stocking error with WCMM

I read somewhere that gold long fins don’t reproduce. Dunno how true it is though or why. Both gold and LFs are engineered fish. Maybe two artificial traits are one too far?

That's interesting. Might be. One of my lil guys fan right out & omg it was gorgeous. They're very chilled & starting to explore the tank more. Breaking off into smaller groups or going solo.

Really glad I got them. Tank is currently 22 as i didn't want a fast reduction. Everyone seems happy so far.

This tank is really lovely to sit & watch. Cories are such a lovely fish too

Oh yay! Knew you'd fall in love with the cories ;)

They're so fun! My husband's favourites too. I'm weighing up adding more. 6 so far in 90cm/36" length 127L/34G tank.

I think one more group will make this tank. Had to give up on mohawk guys for now but once I can travel outside my county I might go pick some up for my smaller tank. I should have rehomed the Platies by then.

Oh no! Why no mohawk guys? Is it a supply issue? I know you really had your heart set on those :(

You could look for other hard water cories to bump your school up even more. I know sterbai are good for my water which is hard, but not sure of their upper range.

My tap water is 250ppm but ph is closer to 8 so I think only Bronze are suitable. Thanks so much to @NCaquatics for posting the hard water list that brought these beauties to my tank!

Yeah local places can't get them. They said things are tough stockwise since covid. One place in Galway has them so OH suggested road trip to see our Plecos in the Aquarium & get some Forktails. But we can't leave our county and tomorrow even more restrictions due. I can't justifying €26 postage charge.

And now I've WCMM this tank is 22 degrees. Too cold for the Forktails. I think I'll keep my 58L low stocked with some Endlers once fry are all rehomed. And then add Forktails to that if they're available when restrictions ease up a bit. Endlers & Forktails will be fun together in a small toddler friend tank.
