Unexpected baby danios; about 3-4mm in length; we were doing a water change; thankfully I had said to him put the water in the bath when emptying it so as to look for a snail; anyway we managed to rescue them from the bath; I have a spare tank at my house but not here so tomorrow they will be in a tank; however they are sitting in a casserole dish at the minute lol.

Anyway what do we do with them; we obviously can't culture live food for them this quickly; I've said we'll go first thing tomorrow and get liquifry food and maybe a moss ball. What do we feed them?

EDIT: also how often should they be fed?

My six week old (first generation of 3) fry have done well so far on Tetramin Baby, with a recent introduction to well ground Tetramin crisps and Tertamin Prima Discus. I feed them twice or three times a day, just a small pinch of food, depending on whether I can still see any bits on the surface from the previous feed (there's an army of baby Bladder Snails and the one surviving baby Rabbit Snail in there which rapidly consume any excess food).

They have lived in a fine mesh breeder net so far, which hangs over the side of the Rio240. Once the Squirrels come out of quarantine, hopefully by next weekend, I'll be releasing the older generation into the Korrall60. These guys are just starting to gain their gorgeous irredescent colouring at a size of just over ~1.5cm!

Good save there, I've rescued Cory fry from the filter before.

Liquifry is a good start but you'll need to get some small powdered food pretty soon. And if you can culture any brine shrimp or microworms the fry will develop really quickly. I used Hikari First Bites powder for feeding my Celestial Pearl Danio fry and they did really well with it. I also used Crushed Tetra Prima pellets once they'd grown to a slightly larger size. but live foods are the best if you can manage to culture them.

On frequency, fry should be fed little and often, they only have small stomachs so any large deposits of food in the tank are likely to pollute the water.

Thanks; just ordering the first bites on e-bay now (the shops don't sell anything hikari related); off to get some liquifry food in a moment; tried them with crushed egg yolk last night and so far so good :)

We found about 30 fish; got liquifry yesterday for them; oh and a separate tank and air bubbler and plants lol.

They are my boyfriends fish so I can't see them all the time but he said they were doing well so far :)

When I didn't have the liquifry I just crushed down flakes for them.
