I've had so many mixed views on these after I've cycled my 6ft by 2ft by 2ft I wanna keep a couple of common plecs, some sucking loaches, few bristlenoses but everybody says the common's are so messy will dig up plants ruin the tank and all the water as well as bullying all my other fish I will get, what is your opinion on this?
Thank you because I don't wanna go out and get a fish that will screw my tank up!!!

Not against just require a big tank, you have a tank plenty big enough for 2 as long as your filter is adequate to cope with the load and trust me 2 common plecs at 10+ inches create alot of waste lol.

Yes they will destroy a tank any possible 18 inch fish is likely to destroy, uproot and generally be clumsy in an aquarium. There not overlu aggressive but will require alot of terrortory when large so you MAY have problems from 12 inches plus with 2 in the tank especially with adding the BN's aswell.

Pletty much what i think, but commons are stunning plecs and really need to be thought out thouroughly before purchase which many dont due to them been so readily available and so cheap :)

so plants wont go well with plecs?

Common plecos including Gibbiceps and Gold Spots are great fish in the right environment,

Personally I'd say even in a 6x2x2 you wouldn't want to keep two, but one of these monsters would make be a great centrepiece, with the right decor and the right tankmates, Given their adult size they aren't really a fish to be kept with smaller tetras etc, but Look Great when kept with large dithers like sharks, Tinfoils or SD's or with Larger Gouramis, Angels, or Medium Cichlids

plecos are always bad, except when they eat the algea.plecos poop a lot wich apset's the nitrate level, and they also take over the of other fish's home like caves and such. They also eat distroy plants, and may uproot them too.Plecos also feed on other fish eggs, even the fishes that protect thier young like Oscar fish-Green terror-Discus and the others will get a hard time protecting thier eggs from the plecos.

any big clumsy fish will destroy plants,
any fish will feed on fish eggs

you can't say a plec is bad because its a plec??

If that was the case then i reckon Guppys are bad because they are Guppys after all

Edit: in that sized tank Geordie I'd go for a nice Gibbiceps or a group of smaller plecos in the size range of 4-8"

aye there nice them like

I would say get a plec, but get something different than a common since they are so... well... common?!
I don't know what kind you could get but one of my personal favourites are the arabesques :)

My gibbicep's is stunning for me, the way it glide's around the tank look's just awsome,
I find it better if you accomadate for the fish other than just keep it, my tank seems now to bring him out all day long, he has place's to hide where you actually think, is he still in the tank, and the lighting in the tank is very subdewed which seems to work with all the fish i have...
never knocks thing's about or uproutes anything, bonus
