my tank includes - 2 rams,
6 tetra
6 harliquins
2 adfs
3 platties

all is good water stats etc normal. i have just noticed that my rams seem to chasing some of the platties. is this normal?

Tank size would be good to include as well, but as to your question, yes rams can be aggressive, more so if they are in cramped or over populated quarters, also if they may be breeding soon the agression gets stepped up a notch as well

96 liters is about 25 gallons

this being the case it should be fine stocking wise, but the rams may be finiky or they may be comming up to breed.
A-do the rams chase them in general or just away from certain places?

B-is the female starting to colour up, particulary VERY pink on the belly?

Ah ok they are just trying to position themselves at the top of the pecking order to get the best/most food, not anything to worry about unless it starts to happening more and more often

if its a new tank than they are establishing the heirarchy. dont worry about it. it happens in my tank sometimes if i get a fish thats a little aggressive

A cichlid will always be slightly aggressive. They will want to be the kings of their tanks and as long as there aren't any more aggressive fish around, it will be so.
