im in the process of creating a blackwater set up with a kind of asian theme to it, lots of twisted manzanita root wood maybe a bit of rock and a lot of catappa leaves around the bottom of the tank, i want a shoal of harlequin rasbora for the main attraction of my tank :) i was trying to go with a sort of biotope set up like for instance like the one by george farmer which he did for PFK if you haven't seen it heres the link so you know what sort of think im going for...

i was going to put one or 2 plants in there, i was thinking of nymphea maculata-tiger lotus and place it around the middle of the aquarium, i was also going to go with a few aponogeton boivinianus and plant them across the back, would this be enough including all of the wood and leaves to hide around or is it really necessary to have a good amount of plants ?
