Are My Zebra Fish ,just About To Spawn

i have 5 zebras in my 60l tank i notice 3 are definatley females coz they are fatter,whilst the 2 other zebras are skinny with straight lines whilst the females lines dip down,will all the eggs just get eaten off the fish ,corys and 3platys, is there anyway of saving them, anyway 3 of the zebras ,especially 2 of them have gone really fat and underneathem the tummy has gone really shiny,whilst i think the pregnant zebras ,the lines on them have gone a pinky colour,im sure they will spawn soon,any1 know if the symptoms sound about right,if so how can i save the fry,eggs

It does like they'll spwan soon, but you really need another tank for breeding; it's almost impossible to save eggs or fry in a community aquarium, plus you do need quite a lot of space.

You could try adding a massive bundle of a fine leaved plant (camomba is good) and hope some eggs survive in the middle of it, but it's not likely.

thanks, i dont have a spare tank at the moment ,but i will trybuy sum camomba plant tommorow, i have 2 pepperd corys 1 albino cory,3 platys 5 neons 5 zebras ,so nodoubt they will get eaten, 1of the zebrs tummy is that big that she must lay eggs in the next day or 2, pity i cant save any eggs ,i just hope the camomba plant works,and ive put sum pebbles in 1 corner next to plants in the hope sum egggs will fall between the pebbles,

You never know your luck

If you want to induce spawning, try feeding some extra live food, do a cold water change and leave your curtains open; hopefully the fish will spawn when the sun comes up in the morning
