My tanks where very very over stocked

After re homing and a hugh fugus infection, the numbers are now down.

15g UK
Newt Tank-

Fuzhong Warty Newt- 1 (Draco)
Male Molly- 2
WCMM- 4
Perl danio- 5
Zebra Danio- 2
Albino Krib- 1
Cory cats- 1
Badis Badis- 3
BN Pl*co Female- 1
BN Pl*co Male- 1
Shrimp- 3

12g UK

Male Betta (GalaHad)
Cory- 1 (Albie)
Otto- 3
Khuli Loach- 2
ADF- 4 (Stumpy, Gutz and Fatty)

I want to move my albino krib into the 12g and posibley plop a nice male in with her. Although I don't think Galahad will be to happy about that.

I like to breed something again, but not livebearers and realy with in the fish I already have with the tanks i already have.

im no expert or anything im quite to to all this meself but i would have thought it maybe overstocked still. not 100% sure though. could u take some back to the lfs?

personally this is what i think you need to do, get rid of the plecos full stop neither of your tanks are big enough to house them, plus the produce a lot of waste.

get rid of the albino krib and the badis badis out of the 15G take them to the fish shop or give them away, do not put the krib in another tank too small and dont even think of getting her a mate or there will be murder!

move the cor cat from the 15 to the 12 and mayb get 1-2 more they like to be in groups.

Khulli loaches get rid of them.

Dont breed in the tanks you have they are far too small and you cannot house anything else.

(ill read again and edit this post if i have to!)

The tanks are overstocked, but i wouldn't say seriously overstocked- this is what i think you should do and it maybe includes buying another tank;

15gal
BN plecs grow to about 4-5inchs as far as i know and you don't have the space to have a piar that could posibly breed so i'd rehome one of them.
The danios im sure must be feeling quite crampt in a 15gal tank with all the other fish and im sure they themselves with their hyperactive behavior are making it uncomfortable for the other fish, i'd rehome the danios- this would also leave you with some space for other fish.
The lone cory in there would also best in being rehomed too.

12gal
Khuli loachs do best in groups of 3-4 but you don't have the space for anymore so i'd rehome the khuli loachs and also rehome the lone cory.
I'd move one of the otos into the 15gal, so your stocking looks more like this;

15gal
Newt
WCMM 4
Male molly 2
Krib 1
Badia badis 3
Shrimp 3
Oto 1

12gal
Betta
Oto 2
ADF 4

Alternatively you could buy a 30gal; and put everyone who is currently in the 15gal in it and add the lone cory and the otos from the 12gal buy 2 more corys for it :) .

wouldnt split the otos up they like to have companions.

its up to you ferrikins which fish you wouldnt mind giving up on and which you definatly want to keep apart from the ones weve said a defo no to.....

Hm i suppose you are right, but there is little point in having 3 algae eaters in a 12gal- if he/she got the 30gal i suppose all fish in the 15gal and the otos from the 12gal could go in :)

yea i think just getting a bigger tank if you have space and putting them all in would be nice... :D

well one BOD there NO WAY, I am going to let my Badis go, it taken me over a year to get the 3 I have.

Problem with taking fish to my LFS, is they don't take them back anymore  They won't even take certain types of fry.

I did have 4 khuli's, sadly 2 died. Buying a another tank can't do, no money no room no time. The zebra danio's I have had since they where tiny fry, they where rescued from a LFS. The Krib is an Albino, I never seen one before and one of the pl*c's I had for about 2 years.

I done some calculation, there 30 inch's in the 15, and 16 inch's in the 12, when all the fish are fuly grown, there will be 45 inch's in the 15, and 23 inch's in the 12. The 15 has 2 filters and a atration unit running. The 12, has a UGF, and soon will have a filter going as well. Plus we do 20% water change's once a week. Going to do a water test and post the results later.

so basically ure not willing to get rid of any of them i can understand the badis mayb i was bit rash about them they are quite small arent they, but thats waaaaaay overstocked your going to end up with problems if you dont do somthing about it!

the khullis and plecs have to go though...or at least one plec...

what about what tokis said and get rid of the danios then if the lfs wont take then back post them in the buy, sell swap section on here someone will have them.

can you not pick up another 10G or somthing...look on ebay or in the buy sell swap things are sooooo cheap!

I think you have 2 choices;

a. Make some space quick in your place now for a bigger tank that the fish can go in, or
b. Rehome quite a few of your fish soon.

Its a tough choice i know, personally i think you should try to go for option a. and get a new and larger tank(30gal would be good)- there's always space for a new tank ;)

Oh beleave me I love to get another tank.

I have to say I have worked hard to keep my levels down, I have'nt balt a fish in 6 weeks, and thats great for me. I am willing to re home to fish, it a case of being not able to do it with my LFS.

The badis will only get to 3 inch's each.

got to get my brain in gear, and speak to my Other half.

Well you have a very good reason to get a larger tank and you could sell the 15gal if you got a 30gal and put it in its place- sooner or later though you will bump into a nasty desease like whitespot and its going to wreak havoc in your tanks.
Overstocking is very contriversal and apart from having to deal more often with water quality, when very infectious deseases get into an overstocked tank they spread alot faster and more widespread and are more difficult to handle and deadly- that would be my main concern in your tanks.
