i was reading the pregnancy thread and they said about the black gravid spot on pregnant guppys

When i got them yesterday i was warned that there might be 1 or 2 pregnant ones as one of the pure strain males that was kept in the tank next to them had somehow got in the tank with the ladies

here's some pics of my girls

if there is a male in the tank 100% they are pregnant but i can't tell you when they are due, when they start the get square its almost time! but guppys dont usually eat the fry so if she does give birth before u've put her in a breeding net or trap u might be able to catch a few lol!!

ive been waiting ages for my platys to give birth! but im not very patient lol

good luck
Jodie

god i wouldn't be very patient either but at least i dont have to wait 9 months for a baby this time lol

take care and post a pic of your babies when they arrive

Sarah xx

Their a long way off. However they are carrying some weight to them so perhaps in 3-4 weeks you have babies.

i don't think tey are pregnant at all, however i see you have many males in there so i'm sure they will produce in a month or so like helter said. btw the redishorange one is very pretty, it is my fav colour!

thanks for the comments everyone

I'm glad i dont have to wait 9 months for a baby this time lmao

i just bought guppies today too!!!

3 girls and a boy

the boy is orange/red really pretty - the girls are plain with orange tails !! :)

dunno if they are pregnant though!!

good luck with yours!!!!!!

what do you plan to do with the babies????

Looking through your pictures, I see enough dense cover in the first picture that if your female guppies surprise you, some of the fry will probably survive in that clump of plants. If you are not going to try to use a breeder, I would put a few more heavy clumps of plants like that in the tank and several fry should survive from each drop.

If they aren't pregnant they will be soon since you have males and females in the same tank. My advice to you is to not take any extraordinary measures to preserve the fry. You've got some cover so a couple will likely survive. I've had seven survive in my tank with no attempt on my part to preserve them. They're now large enough that they don't fear the other fish and can survive without hiding.
