Hi Guys,

very new to this and have only had fish in the tank for about a week, but reading this forum (very good BTW) i suspect a couple of my guppies may be pregnant. i have attached some pics, any advice would be appreceated, and if they are how far along are they.

Thanks in advance Krull

i would say yes. her "gravid spot" is quite large and dark. closer to delivery time, the spot will be nearly black. when delivery is near, the female will be having difficulties swimming due the weight of the developing fry. this should be something you watch for on a daily basis. the female will try to find a hiding place, being it behind plants in the tank or often times, they just seem to want to be left alone for delivery time and don't want to be bothered especially by the frisky males.

:good: all true, what i want to know is how come you got fantastic pics, what camera are you using?

Thanks for you replies, looks like I may have 4 females in various stages of pregnancy then, the other two would not come out for a picture.

Camera I’m using is a canon EOS30D with 17-40mmL lens, shots were heavily cropped, and first time taking pics of fish, will practice and see if I can get some better ones.
