:-( I have a 40 gallon tank, and my 8 guppies have suddenly got ragged fins.i understand this could be fin rot, but none of the other fish have it. The other question i had, was is a golden gourami likely to be aggressive?recently i have noticed him chasing a male, and a female dwarf gourami around the tank.i havent seen him do this to the other fish, but he never used to be aggressive at all.i thought maybe he had attacked the guppies.i have done water readings, and all is good. the tank holds:8 guppies, a male+female dwarf gourami, golden gourami, honey red gourami,4 cory cats,2 kribensis. are any of these likely to be aggressive?

Yes, Gold Gouramis can become aggressive. Mine also was fine in the beginning, but as he got older, he became more aggressive. Also, the other fish that could be aggressive are your Kribensis.

Do you have another tank you could put your guppies in, and maybe add some salt and Melafix?

hmm, dont think its the kribs-havent seen em bothering anyone.it must be the golden gourami,he is the biggest fish in there at the moment.yeh,i could possibly get another tank for the guppies,i dont want them to get ripped to pieces!
