so all of a sudden today my fish have been doing some interesting motions... all of them have been doing it today. there are 3 different things im seeing.. one the fish will go head to head and almost like lock lips and like play with each other.. but its the male and female ones doing it.. the second is a fast circle motion around each other. another one is one will kinda be by the other one and do this rapid shake.. also seen them almost entangle and do that.. are they breeding or what? my fish are not even 2 inches yet.. so i thought this was kind of young? if they are should i be expecting anything? thanks haha... also this is going on between fish.. not just same species. in the tank are red zebra. yellow labs and kennyi Thanks Seth

I would say they are just finding out who the boss is at the moment, but wait and see what some of the gurus think.

It's most likely aggression which could be caused by several things, if you don't have enough rocks they could be fighting over territory, they could be working on their pecking order, or they could just be bored.

How do you know which are females and males, the only way to sex yellow labs is to either observe them breeding, or vent them. Red labs are hard to sex as well, adult males are generally lighter than females, but subdominates can also take on female coloration, kenyis are easy once they hit sexual maturity where the males turn a yellow-orange and females remain blue.

well.. my kennyi changed colors about two weeks ago. so i have two females and two males.. im going to see how that works out. the two males are completely different colors.. im assuming the one must be some kind of a hybrid. it has some really amazing colors. the red zebras. im thinking i have 1 male to 3 females. 3 of them are a lot darker. 1 is a light color and is def one of the dominant ones. its a lot lighter in color. but still vibrant. it has 2 egg spots which i know that can mean nothing. My yellow labs i thought i was sure but maybe not.. i think i have a hybrid one just because of the colors. it kind of has a really really faint yellow stripes going down it. two of them have a black top fin. and the other one is just yellow.
