I've been starting to see ladybugs around my house lately and was wondering if it would be safe to drop them in my Cichlid tank every once in a while for a treat? I have an Oscar, Convict and GT.

no. Birds don't eat them either as they excrete a nasty yellow poison. The reason they are coloured bright red is to warn predators that they are poisonous.

Lady bugs are far to pretty to feed.

Its so rare to see them around here, I love seeing them. They are beautiful.

Ladybirds are highly toxic so no it would not be safe to eat them.

A new form of asiatic ladybugs have been introduced here.. unintentionally of course.. it jsut happens. These nasty things BITE, and though there is a visual way of telling the difference between friend or foe ladybugs, it usually turns out that you find out because they bite you. Pretty, but dangerous :p

Can fish digest chitin?
If so how?
If not, where does all the leftover chitin go?

(chitin is the exoskeletan matrix of bugs <_<)
