So im well aware that many shops dont take livebearer fry, as they are so prevelant, but i figure that maybe a shop will buy kribensis, as they are more expensive and less common. Is this true? If so what do they sell for? I know it varies shop to shop but does anyone have any experience with this? And at what size are they sellable? Thank you!

You might be able to work something out with an owner operator type store. Forget Petco and Petsmart types, they wont do it. You will get your best value if you trade for store credit, rather than sell for cash. If you trade fish for fish, you will get the best value. If you do sell for cash, you will find out how high the markup is on fish, and how little the stores pay for them. They will be looking to get them cheaper from you than from their suppliers. You could probably start selling/trading them at about an inch long, but bigger ones will net a higher price. Markup is often 3x the cost.

Hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread a bit. I too have krib fry, about 40 at about between 5 and 10mm long. They're in the tank with their parents.

The problem is their parent have just laid more eggs. I don't have another tank too move the first batch too and I've heard that the parents will get aggressive towards the older fry once the new fry are born.

So...should I remove the new eggs?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I think it depends on where you live, what demand is there for the fry. I know people who cannot give krib fry away, they tried gumtree and all. Livebearers will be taken in by LFS's around here as they are common and a lot of people seem to buy them.

Good point Micko! It is all up to supply and demand in your area.
