Are Banana Plants Poisonous?

I'm just worried, because me BN plec completly destroyed my banana plant this morning. The stems have all been torn off, and each of the bananas have been chewed on.

Also, is there any chance of saving the plant? It's in pretty poor condition.

strange ive never seen any of my Bristlenose Plecs eating my plants. You sure its them

I was watching him suck on it the other day, and I doubt my livebearers could make such big holes in the plant.

I don't think it's poisonous, as my plec is just as active and healthy as he was before this happened.
