Are Any Of These Fin Nippers?

I am getting some more fish to replace the black ruby barbs I had to bring back because of fin nipping and want to make sure the replacement is peaceful.

I was looking at glowlights, rummynose and head and tail light tetras, are any of these known for fin nipping?

Any comments would be good as I just want a happy, peaceful tank.

Kept glow lights, and rummynose, they are not fin nippers, not sure on the head and tail light tetras though.

I glad those fish are peaceful as I couldn't have aggresive fish again. My poor little cories are only now starting to recover and have come out of hiding, so I couldn't put them through anything else.

I had a cherry barb that chased my panda corys around the tank, so had to move him to another tank.

My Barbs went for bronze cories, it happened so sudden one day everything was fine and the next it was chaos cories being chased every where.
I felt really guilty so I bought them back to the shop and replaced them with some more cories to chear them up.

Bless them they are cute though, i love corys, and they are such pleasant fish, and fun to watch.

I agree they are my favourite fish, the cories i just bought are very young so are just mad at the moment racing around the tank, so it really did help to bring the others out of hiding. Their fins are starting to grow back now as well so it is looking good.

That depends very much on the species; you can't really generalise. Serpas and lemon tetras for instance are well known for their fin-nipping.

what breed of corydoras do you have ?

Hi Dani.

I have neon tetras and rummynoses and they just go everywhere together. I have a bronze cory and pandas and they all live peacefully. I think the corys are a bit dangerous because they whizz around so fast they bump into other fish My Minnows are also fine with other fish but really brutal to each other. Most of my minnows have died so I don't have many left now. Iv'e learnt to watch the fish in the petshop tanks before I buy and don't buy any fish on days they get delivered. They seem very calm then but after they recover from being transported they can become monsters .
