I rescued Archie from the LFS the over the weekend, who was in a tank with a load of tetras - I brought him home and seeked help on healing Archies wounds, and I'm pleased to say that daily water changes, Melafix and aquarium salt seem to be doing Archie wonders! Still got some healing to do, but I'm amazed at how well he's doing!

When I was reading up and asking questions about setting up a Betta aquarium, I couldn't help but get excited about getting my first Betta, reading all the posts about how personal bettas can be - I have to be honest, I was a little sceptical about some of the things that I was reading about them being individual characters and that they are really fussy eaters and only like what they are used to and all the rest of it!

But! having had Archie now for 4 days I can honestly say I know exactly what these people mean now! They are amazing little creatures - and having kept a community tank for over 5 years now I've never had such enjoyment out of an aquarium as I have with Archie's !

That's great news and he looks really happy in the pics. Glad you've come round to our way of thinking  It doesn't take long for them to wrap you round their fins

wow he is beautifal  he looks really nice and healthy too.

btw there is no cure for it...if you get the bug your done for

He is a lovely colour/pattern, glad you like him sooooo much :)

:good: ...another betta addict in the making...?!?!

Yup the little critters seem to be quite good at making us into betta addicts hey! - There's something about a betta - and I really don't know what it is! lol! - I may have to convert the bike shed to a betta shed! lol!

that is a beautiful betta. a lucky one too, to have such a caring person to look after him. he is going to be beautiful when his tail regrows.
and once you get the bug there is no stopping it. i am now have my second betta.

Lovely butterfly markings :good: and lots of finnage in his caudal :good:

:thanks: for the comments, I'm really hoping that I'm not tampering with archie's water too much, it's just I'm desperatly wanting to make this work for Archie! He sure knows how to manipulate his new owner!

which reminds me! he's refusing Hikari Beta pellets, and I went out and bought them specially :grr: and he's only accepting Aquariun Tropical Flake.

When I can find some living bloodworm :)grr: arrghhhh!!! everywhere I look the supposedly live bloodworm is dead in the bottom of the bag!!) I'll give him a shot with that - meanwhile I guess I can always resort to frozen bloodworm from pets at home or that stuff that comes in squidgy packets that contain bloodworm :)blush: sorry I fogot the name!!) to give his diet a bit of veriety!

I'm still unsure what veriety Archie is, the LFS recconed he was a halfmoon, and someone on the forums thought that he might be a SuperDelta - or am I confusing taleshapes with colours?
