Just out of interest, you say big plec, but how big is he, can you get a photo up, i think we are assuming it is a common plec, maybe it is not.

currently at work so cant put a photo up, i have tried to identify, but as im a realtive newbie, i would say he is a common plec and about 6 inchs?

Well the reason i have asked for a photo is that for a common to only get to 6" in 2 years is very slow growth, they are relatively fast growing for the first 1.5 yrs, i would have expected him to be around 10+" already, I'm kind of hoping for you he is not a common plec as you sound like you like him alot, and that he would be looked after by you.
Also what is your location, maybe someone on here could take him.

Good morning fellow fish lovers.

I have been intrigued by the discussion in this post with regards to which fish are acceptable for certain sized tanks.

I have a 60 litre tetra art tank and have approximately 22-25 fish. I have a most fantastic and beautiful selection of fish including two angel fish, 2 shark fish, gourami and barbs. I would like to aquire several new fish in the next few months and would like suggestions as to what types to put in next.

I currently have:
Neon tetras
Black tetras
Sucker fish
Angel fish
Barbs
Shark fish
Guppies
Gournami

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

:hi: Harry83 to the forum, your going to find alot of experinced people here ready and willing to help and from your first post I think your going to need it

Im no expert but you are WAY TOO OVERSTOCKED Is there any room for the fish to swim ??? dont get any more fish you need to get rid of some of what you have or get a much much bigger tank SOON. I started off with a tetra art 60l, and had no more than 10 neon tetras and some guppies, the filter that they come with cannot handle what your asking of it.

what are the shark fish ?? are they black with red tail or silver ???
What type of Gaurami do you have ?
What type of barbs are they ??
How long has your tank been up and running ??
Has it been cycled ??

Hi, thanks for the prompt and extrememy helpful reply. Although the tank sounds like there is alot of fish there is plenty of room in there and they all seem very content with the time in 'tank harry'.

The shark fish are silver sharks - they are still very small. They really are beautiful fish and swim so elegantly through the water.

I have a pair of two dwarf gournamis - these are also pretty small.

The barbs I have are tiger barbs.

The tanks has been up and running since the beginning of 2008 and now seems relatively well estalished. The water has been tested by my local pets at home store and is apparently of good quality for the fish. If I ever have problems with the tanks I have further water tests to establish what the problem may be.

For now I wont introduce any further fish and will look towards upgrading the size of the tank in the near future. What size tank did you move upto after the tetra art 60ltr? Any advice would be great.

Thanks

as i said, im at work (hahaha and im writting on here!) i can only approx for the size of him but he could well be about 8"?

i live in UK, in Bucks, but well close to Herts and Beds, yea i really like him, i have only had the tank now for 2 weeks, but already totally addicted to this aquarium malarkay! I had no say on getting him (Pleco) but i assume my mate got advised at his LFS that it would be ok for the tank....
