I spent all of today researching different plants that would fit in my non-CO2 setup and fit within the criteria of my tank chemistry.

It's very hard to visualize any of this stuff whether you're at the store or looking online but I thought that the online pictures and descriptions gave me a fairly decent idea of what I was getting and how much room to leave for growth (width wise).

I am going to try the aquarimplants' TOTAL tabs since I found it very price competitive. I can supplement later if I find a deficiency.

Since I have a 55 gal tank, which I've recently been wondering by the dimensions if it is more like a 45ish...

I am running a 58W Life-Glo T5 HO bulb which I have to say is blindingly bright. How anyone makes a distinction with WPG between a similarly watted T8 bulb is beyond me. Anyway, let's just say much WPG is a round figure like 1. According to what I've read that's in the low category although somehow I do wonder.

My shopping list was...

(2) Sword, Green Melon (Echinodorus Osiris)
(1) Vals, Jungle (Vallisneria gigantea)(sold 10 plants per order)
(2) Java Fern (Microsorium pteropus)
(1) Sword, Broad Leaf Chain (Echinodorus quadricostatus) (sold 10 per order)
(3) Wendtii, Green (Cryptocoryne wendtii)
(1) Tiger Lotus, Red (Nymphaea zenkeri)
(2) Anubus Nana

What are your thoughts as a better educated body of planted tank people? Did I do ok? Is there anything I should watch out for?

You could have posted this in your other thread. Here.

PAR and lumens are two different things ;)
