I started my fishless cycle two days ago.
I am using Tetra AquaSafe as my chlorine remover but I have just read on a website that it removes ammonia
Is anybody able to confirm/deny this whilst I wait for an answer from Tetra themselves?
I'm also using BacterLife to feed the bacteria and I have just read on another website that it is really for topping up the bacteria weekly, rather than using to mature the filter! And it does say on the bottle that it is suitable for use when high ammonia readings have been taken (implying to me that it reduces them!)
Both products were recommended by the person in my lfs (he knew I was starting a new tank).
I don't have an ammonia test kit. I'm measuring zero nitrites, but after two days I wouldn't expect to anyway.
So I'm wondering whether to carry on as I have been, or whether I am going nowhere with these products and should change now to avoid further delays in the cycling process.
Thanks...
