I know I am so excited (what a nerd), I saw today at WM a new 1 gal minibow aquarium. It said in large letters, get home for a betta! My friend ripped me away before I got to investigate further. It cost around $15.

Also, I found that MiniBow has a glass aquarium that's 7 gals! I love glass aquariums (I want one so bad!) Glass Minibow

Okay is it just me or is this cool?

I've heard a lot of people in other forums I read complain about MiniBow's cracking after a few months. I haven't owned one before though, so I don't know from personal experience.

I have several minibows and LOVE them.
I am TOTALLY excited to see the 1G ones...
I might have to make a trip to IKEA and get a shelf system, and get a slew of 1G tanks to go on the shelf system, then make that into my home decor for one large wall in my house.


It's scary that this is the first idea that popped into my head.

Haha! BettaMomma, you crack me up! You would SO love another excuse to get some more fish... haha.

I had a 1-gallon Minibow about 5 years ago (that we gave to my neighbors--stupid stupid!!!) and it hasn't cracked. I also have a 5-gallon that we've had for a long time, too. No cracks. It's in perfect shape. Course it isn't the glass one, but still. Minibow makes good tanks. (too bad they aren't coming with filters anymore...grr... and they're way more expensive)

Lol, thats the same thing that popped into my head! Course my boyfriend doesn't help the addiction thinking--he told me he would make me a whole wall full of shelving if I bought only those 1 gals (he likes small aquariums--I think it's because it takes less time to clean one).

I've had my minibows (2--2.5s and 1--5 gal) seems like forever and they have never cracked on me!

Saucy - they do still come with filters!
The 2.5 ones do anyway. Maybe it's the big ones that don't.

The 2.5s also come w/betta dividers now too. that SUCK. They wouldn't keep any betta I know on one side of it without some kind of reinforcement like plastic canvas, for sure!

I have two of the 1G MiniBows... lets see if I can find a picture! nope, don't have one. But anyhow, I have 2 of them. I used the undergravel filter that came with it for the first week, but then bought 2 mini internal filters that work great instead. The UGF caused way to much current and my poor little beatup Merlin HATED it. Now with the Mini internal one, he likes to go and sleep on top of it! He's a goofball!

And I've only had them for 2 weeks, so I can't comment on the cracking part. I do have a friend that has either the 2.5 or the 5 (which ever one that has the divider in it, if it's just one of those sizes) she's had it about 1 year now and it's fine.
