Anyone know any reliable websites where they sell tanks for a reasonable price. i'm not saying i want a piece of crap tank. i'm willing to the pay the price for a good tank...but i don't wanna be ripped off or anything.

Tanks are best bought locally because of the shipping costs. They are too easily broken so it can easily cost $300 or $400 to ship even a smallish tank. You can find some acrylic tanks online but they are usually less than 30 gallons. Once again, although they are a little more sturdy than glass, they as still too easily broken, especially with the way freight companies handle things.

Oh...i guess i should change the question. Does anyone know any good tank stores and fish stores (with a good selection of cichlids) around the Washington D.C. / Montgomery County, MD area? Or Ft. Bragg / Fayetteville, NC area would be good too. I'm really gonna miss Korea when I leave. There's a whole street / alleyway dedicated to fish and tanks and stuff. And you can find some beautiful fish for cheap too. I think the most I spent was $100 for a blue dempsey. And that's expensive out here. Most fish are under $20.

Although I live near Charlotte, NC, I can't help you with those areas. I take it you must be in the service and getting ready to coome home. Good luck with finding what you're looking for when you get back.

Well Wal-mart has the best prices on tanks but a very limited selection. Rockville MD has a fantastic fish store. It is called congressional aquarium. I drive over and hour and a half to get there its so nice. They have 12 long isles of fish tanks. They have every supply you could possibly want and a great selection of plants and live foods. They color code all their tanks to give newbies an idea of what fish are safe to keep together. Their tanks are in absolutely perfect shape. I have seen no other lfs with tanks as clean as theirs. Now for the downside...Every time I go they are incredibly busy and it can be hard to get an employee who doesnt already have 3 customers waiting for him. When you do get someone they are NORMALLY very helpful and knowledgable. The other downside is their fish are expensive compared to most places. I do like buying fish there however because I feel it is worth the extra price to get quality fish that are well taken care of.
