Was looking on EBay and found one with some interesting functions

1.7M Aquarium Fish Tank Vacuum Gravel Cleaner Water Syphon Siphon Pump Filter UK

Description:
Whether it is a fish tank at home, the gold fish pond, aquarium and so can use it to smoked pool of water, so that the work of the aquarium water changes becomes interesting.

Removes fish and waste from the bottom of your aquarium whilst making your water change easier   (Look out Cories)

To complete water changes, do not need to use the mouth water.

Instructions for use:
Changing the water that came with the suction pipe immersed in a fish tank 4-5 inch up and down shaking the water several times until the tank is automatically discharged.

I'm definitely having one of these.  I'll let you know how I get on without using the mouth water.

Not sure whats its selling exactly, maybe a pic would help greatly.

Sounds like a standard syphon gravel vac tbh.

A lot of LFS sells syphon gravel vacs at various prices.

And you can buy one of these hand squeeze pump and add to your syphon hose, this helps to eliminate the need to suck water through the hose to start the syphon, though it takes a bit of practice to get right.

Thats just what it is Charlie, I only posted as I thought the translations into English were funny

Ah got it now, that English does indeed have a little room for improvements

Just what I've been looking for to smoke my pool of water.  After all, why use mouth water when you could be smoking it instead?

Could be a magic syphon that has a ball bearing that you just shake to start the suction

I rarely use the squeezy pump or mouth method for starting the syphon now to be honest.

There are a couple of methods I use, mostly what I do is fill the syphon and hose, thumb over the end of hose, put the syphon part in the tank water, let thumb go from end of hose and point into bucket, that starts the syphon, nice and easy

As for smoking water............

I don't even do that any more, Charlie.  Syphon in the tank water, other end in the bucket.  Fill syphon with water, lift it in the air and let it start running down the hose, put the syphon back in the water before it completely empties.  Takes half a second and no mucking about or 'magic syphons' needed.

Yep, thats another good method, whatever works and suits best ;)

For my tall tank I immerse the whole suction hose into the water, cap it with my thumb, place the end into a bucket and then remove my thumb.

I've changed tack on my 4' tank and now use a "fish tank only" 20' garden hose with no ends, one end in the tank, the other onto the grass, suck for half a second and hey presto! Long length of hose means I get no mouth water, the tank is high enough that the initial half second suck gets the water column over the hump in the hose, and I don't have to muck around with buckets. I'm thinking of doing the same to the tall tank, it's upstairs so it's a pain to lug buckets every week.

I'd be keen to try some smoking water if it adds the same amount of flavour to the water that it does to a chicken leg!
