I recently got a new tank. What are some good plants to keep in the tank? Also, I have had problems in the past with plants dying. What could I be doing differently?

Tell everything about your aquarium:

- volume (liters and lenght*wide*high, e.g. 200 liters 100*40*50)
- lights (what kind of tubes, how many watts? e.g. Sylvania Aquastar 2*36W)
- what kind of bottom? e.g. gravel, sand.. if gravel, what is grain size
- what abot water values: pH, GH, NO3-, temperature ... e.g. pH=6.8, GH=2, NO3-=10mg/l. temp=26 C
- filtration
- what kind of fish you're going to keep?

size: 50 gallons
lights: GE wide spectrum flourescant light (watts:?)
bottom: gravel (grain size:?)
pH: 7.0
temp: 79 F
GH:?
filtration: the kind that has a little box that sticks out the back of the tank and you have to change the little sponge thingy inside.
fish: 3 Congo tetras, 1 black tetra, 2 rummy nose tetra, 1 kuhli loach, 1 algae eater, 2 corys. B)

So your tank is probably something like 100cm*40cm*50cm? 39inches*16inches (wide/high?)*20inches (wide/high)?

79F = 26 C is good for many plants.

lights: GE wide spectrum flourescant light (watts:?)

Yes, how many watt and how many fluorescent tube? Probably 30W and 2 tubes? It depends is there enough lights for plants, some of them need alot of light some need only little.

well no matter how i try my fish love to dig up parrots feather looks fantastic i think its gr8 but the fish dont so if you got cichlids dont go for that but they love the breeding grass and the java fern i htink its more of a personal choise.
