Fish Crazy
A few weeks ago, I had an impulse buy, which is bad I know... But I never see chocolate gouramis & he was cute! I put him in my empty cycled 20g until I could figure out what to do with him, because I already have a pearl gourami in my 40g. I ended up putting him in w/ the pearl & theyre doing fine.
Anyway, I bought two platies & a cory yesterday and put them in the 40g. Within a few hours, they developed ragged looking fins (looked similar to fin rot). This has happened before, but I thought maybe they were sick & i didnt notice or something. I put them in the 20g last night, and today theyre doing much better.
What could be wrong with my 40g?? All of the fish currently in it are doing quite well, so I'm confused. I tested the water & amonia is 0, nitrites are 0, and nitrates are 5.
