Aquarium Lighting

whats the healthiest amount of time to leave the tank lights on for the fish? i usually put mine on for 6 hours during the night and for about 15 mins at feeding time is that too much?

if your tank is by a window or gets a good amount of light in the day then it probably isn't necessary to have it on at night also.

I havent got any plants yet but planning on it for my new setup im getting soon im thinking about getting anubias(sp) amazon swords java fern and some weeping moss and my tank do's get some light during the day but its extremely dull light if you get what i mean nothing even close to the amoount of light the aquarium light produce's
