I just bought a new aquarium and it doesn't have a lid. I've looked at several pet stores and can't seem to find anything. Should I look online? Is there anything I could make at home?

First off, Hello and :hi: to TFF!
Well, they're called "hoods."
Kinda like a car.
Try looking here.

Hi
Welcome to the forums.
My lfs owner was able to order me a tank lid the last time I needed one.
As to making one you can post a question or search in the diy forum and someone there will be able to help

She has a point i cant find a lid either but if you look at a pet store you should be a ble to order it mesure the dimention of your tank and give it to them they should be able to order it note give them your phonenumber so they can call you when its in thats one of my mistakes

A "box hood" is the easiest to make... goto a diy store, and theres tons of wood usuable for a hood... skirting board is good for the basic box, the glue battens on to hold it away from the tank, and to sit the lid(s) on... dead easy :hyper:

If you dont want to paint the wood, I recommend cover glasses to stop the wood rotting, but give the wood at least a good coat of wax.
