Aquarium Hood - Any Ideas?

Hi guys

I have been lucky enough to get given three 2 foot tanks. The drawback is that two of them dont have hoods.. does anyone know a good/cheap way of getting replacement hoods? I am quite happy to have second hand. I had a look online and the few that I saw cost almost as much as a tank.

You can get a glass top, they're generally better anyway. PetCo & PetSmart have glass tops for like $15-18. or so.

Would I just buy a clip on light on an arm or something then?

You could use a flip-up/clamp-on style light with no lid like my son has, here's a pic:

...........and here's another 20 gallon with an old fashioned hood and less than a quarter the wattage lighting: (15w T8 v.s 48w T5's)

make one your self out of see though acrylic thats what i did
