First pic; Hydrilla verticilia and egeria densa (with the yellow centre)
Second Heteranthera zosterifolia
Third Ludwigia repens.
All very small flowers but nice to see I think
Thanks iSnail, the first three keep the leaves below the water and send the flower above the water when they know they are getting to the surface, the L. repens grows the buds and once it has a few leaves above the water it flowers, most of the flowers only last a day. I have the fish tank in the garden so it’s because of the sun that they flower I guess.
Yeah a fishtank in the garden is a bit eccentric, I set up the tank as a temporary home for a friends fish last summer, I was going to bring them in the winter but they were fine, a lot of insulation on the tank in the coldest days with artificial light. It is heavily planted with lots of fast growers and as long as I do regular maintenance there is little algae. In the winter I had a lot less growth with the artificial light and lots more algae. It only really gets full sun for an hour and there hasn’t been much of that this year so less red in the plants. The plants and fish look a lot better to me in the natural changing light.
Thanks spacefishy, I used a Tamron 70-300mm lens, on its macro setting.
This is an evening shot of part of the tank it’s a four foot tank, with small fish.
