It the plastic trim goes underneath the tank, and forms a 'ledge' that the glass is sitting on, then that's a floating base. If the plastic doesn't go underneath, and the base is just flat glass, then it doesn't have a floating base, and will need polystyrene under it. to the forum, btw!
