Hi All

Can anybody tell me what has happened to the Aquarium Calculator, when you click on the link at the top of the page it just takes you back to the home page of the forum.
Any ideas B-)
Thanks

FF2 or FF3? I know FF3 has some problems with another forum I am a member on

Bizarre, works fine here... I guess we'll have to wait for someone else to comment - lol

Incidently in the mean time what did you want to know? I can run the calc and post the result here for you :good:

I have also tried running it on IE7 and it will not load.

Schmill,

if you could run the calculator for me that would be great, I have a 60l tank and I need to know how much ammonia to add to it for first cycle purposes.
Thanks

Fishless Cycling - Ammonia Required
Volume: 60 Litres
Desired Level: 5ppm
% of ammonia in solution: 9.5 (I've assumed this as it's the 'norm', if it doesn't match your bottle let me know and I'll re-calc)

Solution Required: 3.16 ml

Hope that helps you out :) :good:

Hi Scouseman,

Its easy to work out without the calculator.

Your tank is 60 litres = 60,000ml

You want to add ammonia to 5ppm (parts per million), so:

60,000ml / 1,000,000 x 5 = 0.3ml of pure ammonia is required

Most ammonia solutions are 9.5% concentration, so i'll go on that basis for now, but obviously you should check, so:

0.3ml / 9.5 x 100 =

3ml of 9.5% solution is required to raise 60l of water to 5ppm.

Cheers :good:

BTT

Schmill,

Thanks for running the calculation for me, it is much appreciated.

Backtotropical,

Thanks for showing me the formula for working the ammonia level out myself.

Cheers
