i emeiled them saying they want photo proof but i already chuked packaging away.........

i have dout about ordering from them again

This is my second order. The first went without a hitch so happy to continue :)

Why would you need the packaging to take a pic of the plants, or do they want to see the whole lot together?

ye and know there saying they wont send anymore plants.................

my advice is to stick with greenline aquatic plants

I have past many orders to Aqua Essentials, equipments, plants and shrimps. Never had problem, I often recommend this shop on French forums and never heard anything bad.
Why did not you take pictures of the plants? Packaging or not, I am sure they can make the difference between the Vallisneria etc.. ;)

Hmm, well unfortunately if you say you received the wrong plants, but have no proof of this then it is your own fault.

I am assuming you are going by the label sticks in the plant pots themselves and not any stickers on the plastic wrapping in which the pot sits? The plants I ordered last week had the right stick in the pot but the wrong sticker on the bag.

Some plants will also look much different once established in the aquarium in relation to how they look when you get them: Tropica grow many plants out of water and when in water they usually develop much different foliage. The m.hirsuta is one of these, it looks much different once established underwater than it does when first delivered.

:( dont have any hc left

im sure they normally have more the 29 plants for sale?

They do, but knocking 50% off their entire Tropica potted plant section has had a huge affect on the number of different species available :) Can't decide why they're doing it really, there must be a reason!

Probably cos they're very expensive. A Tropica plant in a bad store is OK if its only been there afew days, and even when in a bad state will come back singing after a while.

£5 a plant is expensive for something like Bacopa Caroliania when you can get cuttings from anywhere else for £2 and they will grow just the same.

Those prices are still more expensive than Aquaticmagic on ebay

Hi all i can tell you why Richard at ae is selling his plants at 50% off, he keeps his plants alive during winter hydroponically(excuse spelling) but once summer comes he stops stocking them due to the heat in summer,he does not have the room for the same setup as most aquatic shops do so thats why he has the sale. regards john :good:

Not in stock so got refunded :( Was looking forwards to that one. Oh well :)

As for aquaessentials great reputation. I ordered from them a few times and was happy with the results, they are expensive but they sell some stuff that’s not available otherwise. I ordered some grade A crystal red shrimp just a few to start with as they cost about £12.00 each, the first ones were fine. I then ordered 10 they came and when I saw them in the bag it was hard to know what they looked like after their journey. I put them in the tank and soon could see that they were lower quality than the ones I already had far too many of and which I sell for £1.00 each to the shop where I originally bought them. I was furious because Richard knew perfectly well that they were nowhere near A grade. I complained and his only offer was for me to return the shrimp. How exactly was I to catch the very small shrimp and keep them in a tank and return them in the post. I don’t even have a safe bag for them. Its been weeks and I have only managed to remove 4 of them, my tank has so much growth in it that it is impossible to catch them, I hope to have them all out before they start breeding. He said it was not his fault that he was sold those shrimp as A grade not his fault but his problem.
I will never shop there again unless its something I badly want and cant find anywhere else. He knew perfectly well that the shrimp were low grade, I can buy them for £3.50 not that I want them I have already sold about 150. I feel I was cheated, normally a return and a refund is fine for plants or dry goods but for tiny living animals this in hardly an option. I would have strip the tank to get them out, probably kill my shrimp in the process and then have the whole worry about sending them safely from London to Devon. After he sold me the shrimp, he then stopped selling them as A grade and dropped the price which proves my point. I still feel angry about it so sorry if this sounds like a rant.

That doesn't do any good for AE's reputation at all. I'm sure he was well aware that his CRS are not of grade A. If he was sold those so called grade A stock then he should have either taken it up with his supplier or sold them as lower grades to his customers rather than deceiving people hoping that they don't find out.

Liam, hope your problem gets resolved soon.
