Hi all,

I have just bought a Aqua One Aquis 1000 in full working order for £20.

The media will need replacing. Does anyone know any websites where i can get it cheap? or, any alternatives to put in the trays?

I've seen the white x5, blue x2 and black x2 foam pads on ebay for £20 for the lot.

any suggestions would be kindly appreciated

if i remember right the foam pads are a hexagon shape with a hole running through the middle. if this is the case then get genuine black and blue sponges for the best fit but just use floss for the top basket. floss can be bought for about £6 for a large bag full and will last for ages.

if the filter came with the black and blue foam then just wash them as they will last forever and shouldnt really need replacing tbh.

Agree with mattleee; they shouldn't need replacing.

If they do look ropey, or if you're worried about parasites from the previous set-up, a really good wash in very hot water usually revives filter sponges very nicely (it'll destroy your nitrifying bacteria, of course)

Thanks for your help guys!

I'll give it a really good clean and put it straight into the tank then. (stuffing it with my existing filter sponge from my internal for the bacteria)
