Aqua Basis Plus And Manado

hi all.im in the process of getting a new 260l tank.im going to have a go at growing some nice plants in the sub,in my current tank i have java ferns,bilibotis? think thats it,all on bogwood.im contemplating using jbl aquabasis plus and jbl manado as top layer,does anyone have any feedback/advice on the effectiveness/quality of these products?.would c02 be a good investment also?,ive ordered proflora 401 taifin c02,any good? your expert help and advice will be greatly appreciated

i used basis plus under my sand and had no problems with it at all, its not as good as the fluval stratum im using right now, the plants certainly didnt grow as fast but it still worked. I also hated the fact that ive it came to water level it was like throwing dust into the tank and it went completley brown. i never used the manado so im not sure on that
