Apple Snails and Sand?

Can apple snails go into a tank that has a sand bottom?

mine are in just that

I've always kept them with a sand bottom....I think its better for them anyway as long as you get 'soft' sand that isn't sharp.

I use playsand in mine....its also excellent for cory catfish.

Play sand in all mine too. They seemed just as happy with gravel, but heh ho, they like the sand too.

same here. playground sand in my tank too. seems fine

ours would leave funny clumps of gooey sand when the got stuck in places...

and to start with they will leave slime trails
