Hi All,

I went away on Sunday and got back yesterday, and in that time it seems that my Aponogetum Crispus has sprouted a seriously long stem which after a quick google looks like it could be about to flower, but it is much longer than the height of the water so is laying along the surface.
Should I leave it be or can I cut it down?

Thanks,
OS

well its down to you, if you cut it it will send up another and you can keep cutting them down, if you leave it it will self pollinate after a few weeks then you'll more little plantlets of it, after it flowers though it will start to bulk up its bulb to enter dormancy (even though it doesn't need a dormant period)  so you'll see a reduction in the leaves, it will start to send off more after awhile though
