Look what I got Decided to call him Rio. He's missing a pelvic fin, and maybe he has some other faults, too, not sure, but he sure is a funny little guy and I love him already Not looking to breed him at all. I'm just in fishkeeping for the fun and joy of it. These pics were taken only half an hour or so since he was put into the Quarantine Tank. I'll try and get some better pictures in a few days when he settles down a little.

Thanks! I got him at an auction. Poor guy was in a bag for 9 hours+ He was hiding in the back corner at first, but this morning he was hovering over the bottom in his pot, staring at me. I'm in love.

Do you mean that there are fish auctions around?
I have never heard of that. It must ave suffered in that bag for such a long time, what about heat, oxygen?

I never knew about them eitjer lol. It was pretty exciting.
No, no heaters, no oxygen The fish were put in bags filled a quarter with water, the rest had to be air. Still, some of the fish were bagged the night before, so Rio could have been stuck in that bag for over 12 hours. The bags were all on tables, and it was pretty cool(as in cold).
On a break dad got a cooler and some heat packs, and we set him up with that so he warmed up pretty good. Once it was over I gave him some oxygen via one of those emergency battery powered airstones. Then he was sealed again in the same manner as before, and he made it safely home and into the tank at home.
Man, I can't even imagine being in his place. So scary and stressful!!
