Api Vs Nutrafin

Just tested the PH in my fishless tank (currently cycling)

I used API (right of the picture) PH7.6 and Nutrafin (left of the picture)PH6.5 and found what appears to be 2 different results.

What does everyone else think, have you experienced this also? This is also a concern when introducing fish where the PH reading maybe lower than I think.

It is hard to tell as I am currently cycling my tank and aware of the importance of PH during the process.

I have shells in a bag near the filter (haven't added biccy soda yet)

Yes, and then it resolved itself.

Make sure you shake the API test kit. And the Nutrafin one is a wide range test kit.


It's good to know that someone else found that they differed. I do shake the bottles like crazy. :crazy: but when I do test just to see with both they are always out.....
