Api Master Test Kit?

okay so i thought my ammonia was 0 but now i have no idea what it was, after a 90% water change it was defo 0 but looking at my 0 now and looking at the previous one its orange? is this possible? anyone else had this?

Orange? You 100% sure you're doing the ammonia test? Did you shake it well beforehand and did you remember to use both bottles?

yep i am 100% sure lol this is why i am confused haha, shake very well and used both bottles if my memory serves me well its 8 drops of each

I must admit I don't really understand the question but if the test is orange it's probably a nessler based kit so which brand is it - is it the Nutrafin freshwater test? Can you put your question a little more clearly please as well?

sorry, its an API master test kit, and the ammonia test came out orange, and the colour chart goes from yellow to green

test one in morning before water change was orange

test two after water change was yellow


only thing i can think of is maybe i put to much of bottle two in or maybe not enough

Surely you're following the instructions exactly if you're not sure? What do they say?

If it's the API test then it sounds like you're doing the nitrate test (which will give orange). Either that or you're mixing the bottles up somehow. The Ammonia test can never give an orange colour.

Get a Salifert test kit.
