I purchased a bottle of API StressCoat+ on Amazon, and it came without a tamper/quality seal under the cap.
I complained, and they sent me a new bottle - also with no seal.
Both bottles are the same size, and from the same lot - which makes me wonder if they simply did not put seals on that run.
I have contacted API, but have not yet received a response.
Should I be warry about using these chemicals?

ive never used them, but provided it isn't something living like bacteria additives it should be fine without the seal.

I just received this message from API:

Thank you for contacting API Technical Services. We are sorry to hear about your experience. Due to the pandemic, we ran out of seal for a period of time. So there is some product that does not contain a seal.
That Stress Coat was manufactured July 2020, which was apart of the seal shortage.
We apologize for the inconvenience, the product is safe to use.

Once you use all the stress coat, move to seachem prime. The aloe vera in the stress coat damages fish gills over time.

All the water conditioners I have ever used never had a seal under the lid.

If they were made in July 2020 they will be fine.

Bottles I have purchased in the past were always sealed, although I have never purchased this size bottle before.

I've never heard that about aloe vera. Why would they use a chemical that damages fish lungs, even if it helps in other ways?

I have considered switching to prime for other reasons, but it is unfortunately hard to get in my area.
In the local shops, I have a choice between Sera Aquatan and DaJana ChlorStop, and I can purchase API StressCoat on Amazon. Unfortunately, the third-party sellers who sell Seachem Prime on Amazon all charge exorbitant shipping rates to my area.

A lot of water conditioners add stuff "to promote the slime coat". I prefer not to use those.
I don't like Seachem Prime either as they won't say what's in it.

As there is no ammonia or nitrite in my tanks, I use API Tap Water Conditioner. All this does is remove chlorine and bind metals. Nothing else.
